Shelby Farms Greenline
The Shelby Farms Greenline is a 6.5 mile urban trail connecting Midtown Memphis to Shelby Farms Park–the largest park of its kind in the country. Managed and operated by the nonprofit Shelby Farms Park Conservancy, the trail is an incredible community asset that provides new opportunities for recreation, exercise, togetherness, healthy activity, commuting and more.
V&E Greenline
The V&E Greenline is a 1.7 mile urban greenspace converted from an old railroad in Memphis, TN. The V&E Greenline provides a natural, serene space for members of the community and beyond to exercise, walk their dogs, observe wildlife, or even visit with fellow users of the Greenline.
Wolf River Greenway
The Wolf River Greenway is a corridor of protected green space along the Wolf River which includes a paved pathway for non-motorized transportation. Built in sections, this 10-foot wide pathway will eventually extend a total of 30 miles to connect neighborhoods all the way from downtown Memphis through the cities of Germantown and Collierville, Tennessee.
Chelsea Avenue Greenline
The Chelsea Ave Greenline project involves 2.5 mile section of unused railway that Greater Memphis Greenline wants to transform into a new multi-use trail that links Midtown, New Chicago, Uptown, the Wolf River Greenway, The Mississippi River Trail, St. Jude, Rhodes College, and nearby schools.
Big River Crossing – Harahan Bridge
The Main to Main Multi-Modal Connector Project will include major infrastructure repairs and improvements on Downtown Memphis’ Main Street from Uptown to the Harahan Bridge and convert the Harahan Bridge into a bike/pedestrian path. Grand Opening: October 22, 2016
Johnson Creek Greenway
Once completed, the Johnson Creek Greenway will run east along Johnson Creek on US Highway 61 to its trailhead at the intersection of Church Road and Highway 301 in Horn Lake, MS. The trail will meander some 5 miles through hundreds of acres of pristine Delta lowlands.
The Hampline
The 1.7-mile Hampline will connect Overton Park to the western end of the Shelby Farms Greenline. As designed, it will go through the heart of the Binghampton neighborhood along Tillman Street, through the Broad Avenue Arts District, and connect to Overton Park under the Bike Gate.
Fletcher Creek Greenway
The Fletcher Creek Greenway runs alongside Fletcher Creek, connecting Memphis and Bartlett. The total project will have a multi-use trail running from Highway 64 on the south to Brunswick Road on the north following Fletcher Creek, approximately 4.4 miles.
Horn Lake Creek Greenway
Developed as a subplanning project of the Mid-South Greenprint, DeSoto County Greenways has identified the Horn Lake Creek Greenway as a priority for greenways development in DeSoto County. The project is organized into two phases: Southaven to Highway 51 (1 mile) and Horn Lake Road to Highway 51 (2 miles).
Crosstown Greenline Connector
The vision for the Crosstown Greenline Connector is to extend the V&E Greenline for its current terminus, across both the abandoned railroad bridge and the intersection at N. Parkway and N. Watkins, and through the Crosstown Development Project site to Claybrook.
Memphis-Arlington Bike-Ped Trail
The Town was awarded a Grant for a Bike and Pedestrian Trail to connect the current trail from the Sports Complex to tie in with the Douglas and Airline Project that will ultimately give connectivity from the High School and Middle School to the Elementary School and make it possible to safely walk or bike to and between these locations.
Loosahatchie Greenway
The Greenway Trail will connect to the low- to moderate-income neighborhoods in Arlington, providing the residents with access to employment centers, green spaces, and affordable housing. The Greenway Trail will also connect to Arlington’s historic Depot Square at the Town’s center.
South Memphis Greenline
The South Memphis Greenline proposes to convert an abandoned rail corridor approximately 2 miles long into a greenway through the heart of South Memphis, connecting residential, commercial, and employment areas.
Coldwater River Nature Trail
The North Outlet Channel Recreation Area provides access to the Coldwater River Nature Trail System. This network of trails encompasses two hiking trails (one trail is 3 miles in length and the other is 5 miles in length) and the Big Oak Nature Trail which is a self-guided interpretive trail.
Germantown Greenway
Several miles of a planned 22-mile trail system are complete, offering a paved pathway for walkers, runners and bicyclists. Sections are open along the Wolf River, beginning at Neshoba Park, and between Johnson Road Park and Houston Levee Park. Designed as a linear park, the Germantown Greenway will eventually encircle the City, linking parks, schools and neighborhoods.
